In December 2018, Montcrest Asset Management (formerly known as NYX Capital Corp.) acquired a 76,000 square foot industrial building on five acres of land located at 1770 Appleby Line, Burlington. Montcrest partnered with Bluebird Self Storage to convert the building into a new A-Class self-storage facility and will construct an additional 75,000 square feet, three-storey building on the excess land. The completed self-storage development will provide 1,020 climate-controlled units and 68 drive-up units.
The property has high visibility as it is located on one of Burlington’s key arterial roads at the centre of the interchange of the QEW and Highway 403. There is only one self-storage competitor within 1.5 kilometres of the site.
